James Junior “Jim” Harris , age 91, formerly of Lincoln, passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, Missouri. He married Ardella Esgars on January 22, 1983. She preceded him in death on June 1, 2022.

Jim was born on February 13, 1931, in Lincoln, the first child of James and Beulah F. Rose Harris. He attended schools in Lincoln, and was a talented athlete in multiple sports. Being the oldest of 7 children, he helped provide for his family. He was employed by Stetson’s China Factory in Lincoln, owner and operator of Harris’s Gold Mine in Lincoln, and as a carpenter millwright for Northern Petroleum near Morris, IL. He was a hard worker able to do any job presented to him. He loved going to dog races and playing cards.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his son Michael Wayne Harris, four sisters-Laura Slayton, Faye Jones, Eva Hill, and Kay Petro, two brothers-Bub and Aaron, and the mother of his children Shirley Beck Harris.

Jim is survived by his daughters Carole Ann Clouse and Linda Louise (Delmar) Holt, along with a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In honor of Jim’s wishes he will be cremated with funeral services to be determined at a later date.
