Mount Pulaski comes up short versus Pleasant Plains

[December 01, 2022]  The Lady Toppers traveled to Pleasant Plains on Monday night and despite falling behind early, the girls never gave up and made it an exciting ballgame until the end, finally falling by a final score of 54-49.

 

Pleasant Plains led 15-10 after the first quarter. Grace Davis and Alyson Murphy each sank threes in the first quarter.

By halftime the Lady Toppers had cut the deficit to 30-23, with Alexis Wade tossing in six points and Hailee Daigh adding five points.

Mount Pulaski battled hard in the third quarter to cut the deficit to 37-34.

Mount Pulaski was 9-for-13 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter.

It was one of those games where the two teams were tied a few times, but Mount Pulaski could not take over the lead.

Pleasant Plains won the game by a final of 54-49.

Alexis Wade led Mount Pulaski with 15 points. Wade also had 4 rebounds.

Hailee Daigh returned to the lineup from injury and she scored 14 points.

Alyson Murphy added 12 points and 4 steals.

Mount Pulaski’s record falls to 2-3 on the season.

The Lady Toppers will host Monticello tonight. The JV game is scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m. and the Varsity will follow at approximately 7 p.m.
