The
annual event is not only very well attended, but very well supported
by local businesses, organizations, and individuals. This was made
apparent when guests had the pleasure of choosing from dozens of
raffle baskets on display and taking up the largest part of the gym.
For this fundraiser, the raffle is done via dropping tickets in
buckets in front of the item the patron would like a chance to win.
Tickets were sold in unlimited quantities. Guests, then perused the
many offerings and dropped one, two, or more tickets in bucket in
front of the item. After the end of the day, the tickets would be
drawn, and winners would be notified.
Along with the basket raffle, there was a delicious breakfast being
served all morning long. The breakfast of eggs, fried potatoes,
biscuits and gravy, bacon, and cinnamon rolls brought in lots of
hungry customers, as CCS students and helpers worked to serve up
large servings to everyone.
For
those with a big sweet tooth, there was a big baked goods sale going
on as well.

Cookies of all varieties were being offered for very
affordable prices.
One of the largest draws of the day was the gigantic load of
groceries on display, again, being offered via a raffle with one
lucky winner taking home more than enough food to last for weeks.
Other big draws of the day a coloring table for youngsters, a
special mailbox for letters to Santa, and the “class trees” on
display decorated with items made by CCS students.
The money raised at the Sunday event will go to support school
programs.
