Lady Railers crush Charleston 64-8

The Lady Railers hit the road on Saturday for the long trip to
Charleston. The drive over was just about as long as the two games.
Lincoln swept Charleston, with the Varsity team winning 64-8 and the
JV team winning 57-17.
The Lady Railers scored 40 points in the first quarter. That’s worth
repeating. The Lady Railers scored 40 points in the first quarter.
Every starter scored. Kloe Froebe scored 20 points in the first
quarter. Becca Heitzig and Jenna Bowman each scored eight
first-quarter points. And Tori Geriets and Taryn Stoltzenburg each
tossed in two points. Between Froebe and Bowman they each made two
three-pointers. That’s an impressive first quarter. Oh, the Lady
Trojans scored a basket. At the end of the first quarter the score
was 40-2.
By halftime the score was 52-3 with Lily Holmes, Makinley Knapp and
Geriets each scoring four points.
Geriets poured in six more points in the third quarter and the lead
grew to 61-3.
Three points by Knapp in the fourth quarter was the end of the Lady
Railers scoring and the final was settled at 64-8
Kloe Froebe led the Lady Railers with 20 points. Tori Geriets added
12 points.
Lincoln improves to 11-0 on the season.
The Lincoln JV team won by a final score of 57-17. In this game, the
Lady Railers led 30-2 after the first quarter. At the half, the
score was 46-7. At the end of the third quarter, Lincoln was up
53-13. With Ceana Adams leading the way with 11 points and Lily
Holmes pouring in 10 points, Lincoln had no trouble in the 57-17
win.
The Lincoln JV team improves to 6-0.
The Lady Railers will play Mount Zion Tuesday night at Roy S.
Anderson. The JV will tip-off at 6 p.m. The Varsity is scheduled for
7:30 p.m. This is the last home game of 2022 for the Lady Railers.
