The Lady Toppers played Springfield Lutheran Monday night on the
campus of Sacred Heart-Griffin and it was a hot shooting night
for Mount Pulaski, who won by a final score of 76-23.
The Lady Toppers poured in 26 points in the first quarter, led
by Alexis Wade with 10 points. Aly Murphy made six points and
Je’Na Rentmeister tallied five first-quarter points. At the end
of the first eight minutes of play, Mount Pulaski was on top
26-2.
At the half, Mount Pulaski was up 36-8 over Lutheran.
The third quarter ended with Mount Pulaski running away with the
game, leading 62-17. The Lady Toppers made 10 three-pointers
through the first three quarters of play.
With a running clock making the game come to an end faster, it
was a really short night for Mount Pulaski, especially since
there was no JV game.
The final score of the Varsity game was 76-23.
Alexis Wade led Mount Pulaski with 19 points. Je’Na Rentmeister
tossed in 18 points. Kenzi Chandler hit double-digits with 15
points and Aly Murphy turned in a solid performance with 12
points.
Mount Pulaski improved their record to 7-3.
The Lady Toppers will play at Decatur LSA Thursday night. The JV
game will start at 6 p.m. and the Varsity game will follow.
