							Darlene J. Hoerbert, 88, of Emden 
							passed away on Monday, December 12, 2022, at home.
 Darlene was born on March 12, 1934, in Eureka, the 
							daughter of Edgar and Mary (Shoen) Adams. She 
							graduated from Eureka High School in 1953. Darlene 
							married Paul Hoerbert on August 4, 1956, in Eureka.
 
 She is survived by her sons, Blair and Jeff (Laurie) 
							Hoerbert; daughters, Rose McAllister and June (Dave) 
							Jacobs; one son-in-law, John (Cyndi) Prosser; 
							siblings, James (Jane) Adams, Ann (Reggie) Lindsay, 
							Kathy (Jim) Todd, and Nora Rayburn; eight 
							grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and two 
							great-great-grandchildren.
 
 Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, 
							husband, Paul; daughter, Barbara Prosser; 
							son-in-law, James McAllister; and step 
							granddaughter, Jamie McAllister.
 
 Darlene worked at Sealtest and City of Peoria. After 
							marriage, she was a devoted farm wife and mother; 
							and later a grandmother, great-grandmother, and 
							great-great-grandmother.

							Darlene was a member of St. Peter 
							Lutheran Church, San Jose Homemakers, and was a 4-H 
							Leader for many years teaching numerous young ladies 
							to knit. She was a gifted seamstress, quilter, and 
							crafter. Darlene traveled extensively visiting many 
							states and twenty-four foreign countries. 
							 
							Funeral services for Darlene will be 
							held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at 
							St. Peter Lutheran Church in Emden, with an hour 
							visitation prior (9 a.m. to 10 a.m.). An evening 
							visitation will take place Friday, December 16, 
							2022, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. also at the church. 
							Burial will follow the services at Hartsburg Union 
							Cemetery. 
 Memorials may be made in Darlene’s name to St. Peter 
							Lutheran Church.
 
 Arrangements have been entrusted to 
							Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
