[December 16, 2022]  LINCOLN - Helen Kelsey, 87, of Lincoln, passed away on Monday, November 28, 2022, at Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

Visitation:  11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, December 5, 2022, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln

Service:  1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home

Obituary

Helen Kelsey, 87, of Lincoln, passed away on Monday, November 28, 2022, at Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

Helen was born on September 23, 1935, in Lovington, the daughter of Charles and Lydia (Tribbey) Ridgeway. She married Dennis Kelsey on May 19, 1977, in Bloomington. He preceded her in death on June 17, 2011.

Helen is survived by three daughters, Cindy Veff of Bloomington, Sue (Rob) Dieke of Ada, MN; Sheila Sipes of Bicknell, IN; three sons, Charles (Theresa) Funk of Armington, Dennis Kelsey Jr. of Indianapolis, IN, and Chadwick Funk of Washington, one brother, John Ridgeway of Bloomington, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dennis; and her daughters, Michelle Kelsey, Elise Hill, Cheri Funk, and Teresa Sahm; as well as several siblings.

Helen enjoyed collecting knick-knacks; she had accumulated several hundred salt and pepper shakers. She like to watch hummingbirds and always enjoyed corn dogs during the County Fairs. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.

Services for Helen will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, December 5, 2022, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. A visitation will take place prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Zion Cemetery.

Memorials may be made in Helen’s name to the donor’s choice.
