[December 17, 2022]  LINCOLN - Fred I. Augspurger, 88, of Lincoln, passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2022, at Vonderlieth Living Center in Mount Pulaski.

Visitation:  Pending

Service:  Graveside service at 1 p.m. on Thursday, December 15, 2022, at New Union Cemetery.

Obituary

Fred I. Augspurger, 88, of Lincoln, passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2022, at Vonderlieth Living Center in Mount Pulaski.

Fred was born May 5, 1934, in Bloomington, the son of Ivo G. and Frances (Denman) Augspurger. He married Octava Joann Luckhart on December 18, 1955. She preceded him in death.

Fred is survived by one son, Dave Augspurger of Springfield.

He is also preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, George Augspurger and Mary Johnson.

Fred graduated from Lincoln Community High School in 1952, Bradley University in 1956, and The University of South Florida in 1970.

Fred worked in manufacturing management at several aerospace and medical instrument manufacturers during most of his career. He was a Fellow in the American Production and Inventory Control Society and certified by the National Association of Purchasing Agents.

He enjoyed playing tennis, golf, and bridge. He was a lifelong Chicago bears fan. In Lincoln, he was an officer in the Elks Lodge, and served on the Board of Directors for the Lincoln Land Community Concert Association.

A graveside service for Fred will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, December 15, 2022, at New Union Cemetery.

Memorials may be made in Fred’s name to Hillsdale College in Hillsdale, MI.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
