Wednesday was a new day for the Lady Railers in the 2022 Dixon-KSB
Holiday Classic and that meant another new victim on the court.
This time the Lady Railers crushed the Byron Tigers 72-28.
Once again it was the trio of Kloe Froebe, Becca Heitzig and Jenna
Bowman leading the team in double-digit scoring. Froebe poured in 23
points while Heitzig scored 13 points and Bowman finished with 11
points.
Lincoln led 16-5 after the first quarter. Heitzig and Froebe
combined to score 10 points early on while Bowman and Taryn
Stoltzenburg each tossed in threes.
In typical Lady Railers fashion, the girls put up the points in the
second quarter, streaking out to a 43-16 lead over the Tigers at the
half. Heitzig’s nine points guided the Lady Railers in the second
quarter, but she got plenty of offensive help from five other
teammates. Stoltzenburg, Froebe, Bowman, Whiteman and Tori Geriets
each poured in points in the quarter.
Froebe scored 13 points in the third quarter to lead the team
effort. Bowman also scored five points in the third quarter and Lily
Holmes was 2-for-2 from the free throw line as Lincoln’s lead grew
to 63-20.
The bench completed the scoring in the fourth quarter. Holmes, Grace
Schneider, Ceana Adams and Makinley Knapp each scored as the Lady
Railers finished off the Tigers by a final score of 72-28.
