Today, Lincoln Daily
News wraps up publishing the massive number of reader submission
photos from Winter Storm 2022. In all, LDN received 159 photos of
kids, pets and snow.
Thank you to all our readers who helped up bring the entire
community a pictorial view of the storm. While in many areas, a foot
of snow would not be considered a lot, in this area it is, and it
has been several years since we have seen this much snow at one
time.
In spite of the wind and the cold, we got the definite impression
that at least our area children took advantage of a rarely found
playground in their own back yards.
Sledding and tubing were a big part of the enjoyment children found
last week.

For Abbie Stroik and baby Porter, the sled came in the form of a
clothes basket. Abbie wrote that she had ordered a sled for Porter
but the snow came before it did, so she figured out a reasonable
compromise so little Porter could enjoy a ride in the snow. |

For Levi Campbell, the sled did arrive in time, and the look of pure
joy on his face is priceless. Thanks to Isaac and Bethany Campbell
for submitting one of our favorite photos. |
|
Cindy Bivin sent in three great
photos of her kids having a great time with sleds and inner tubes.
In the first picture from Cindy, Savanna Shaffer is on the sled
hanging on for dear life! But, poor Jake Bivin came out of his
gloves and was left belly down in the snow, while the inner tube and
his gloves went on their merry way. |
|
The Bivin bunch were being pulled through the snow on their inner
tubes. Here Ethan Bivin mastered keeping his sled in the tire
tracks.
And finally, John Bivin on the inner tube raced along beside Ethan
as they were being pulled down the road. |
|
Crystal Siegel sent in this photo of her youngster with his
snowboard. You may remember this fellow for his creepy face mask and
the photo LDN ran as a top pic on our community page last week. |
|
In case you missed it, here it is again. |
|
Zach Rickord shared this photo. The ski goggles this little sweetie
is wearing are almost bigger than she is! |
|
And for the last of the sledding pictures, how sweet is this. Looks
like grandpa became someone’s hero for the day! Thanks to Maria
Palermo Hoyt for submitting this photo. |
