The
Lady Railers hosted Mahomet-Seymour on
Thursday night and the Bulldogs got the best
of Lincoln once again, winning this game by
a final score of 63-52. Back on January 17,
2022 the Bulldogs defeated Lincoln 46-37 in
Mahomet.
Before Thursday night’s game, sophomore Kloe
Froebe was honored for scoring her 1,000th
point this season as well as for breaking
her sister Kaelyn’s record for points scored
in a sophomore season.
On the court, the Bulldogs took off to a
19-7 lead after the first quarter. Lincoln’s
offense was a three by Jazmyn Robbins and
baskets by Jenna Bowman and Reese McCuan.
Mahomet-Seymour matched their points total
in the second quarter and held a 38-22 lead
over Lincoln when halftime arrived. The Lady
Railers were guided by two 3s from Taryn
Stoltzenburg and five points from Piper
Whiteman. Ryen Stoltzenburg also chipped in
a three in the quarter.
Becca Heitzig and Robbins each tossed in
four points in the third quarter to lead
Lincoln’s offense. Whiteman added another
three and Imagin Werner contributed two
points but the Lady Railers found themselves
down 50-35 when the third quarter came to a
close.
Whiteman and Werner led the Lady Railers
offense in the fourth quarter with five
points each, but the Bulldogs placed four
players in double-figures and proved too
much for Lincoln on this night.
Lincoln once again was playing without their
leading scorer, Kloe Froebe, who continues
to nurse an injured hamstring. Lincoln falls
by a final score of 63-52.
Piper Whiteman, who is a freshman, led the
Lady Railers with 13 points. Senior Jazmyn
Robbins tossed in 10 points for Lincoln.
Lincoln falls to 21-8 on the season and 8-4
in the Apollo Conference.
Mahomet-Seymour edged Lincoln 39-37 in the
JV game. Makinley Knapp led the Lady Railers
with 18 points.
The JV team ends their fantastic season with
a 15-3 record.
