Lincoln Freshman team wins Lincoln Tournament

[February 18, 2022] The
Lincoln Railers freshman team defeated Normal Community High School
49-43 Wednesday night to win the 2022 Lincoln Freshman Tournament.
The Railers held a slim 19-18 advantage over the Ironmen after the first
quarter. Parker Graue, Brady Miller and Gabe Smith each poured in threes
for Lincoln. Blake Horn also contributed four points in the first
quarter.
The Ironmen took the lead in the second quarter. Miller and Frank
Sanders scored the only baskets in the quarter and Lincoln was down
24-23 at the half.
Smith led Lincoln with six points in the third quarter and Miller added
a three but it was not enough to take the lead. The Ironmen remained in
front of the Railers 37-32 at the end of the third quarter.
Lincoln would have an outstanding fourth quarter and outscore Normal
Community 17-6. Graue and Miller each led the way with five points. Horn
tossed in four more points and Smith scored three for Lincoln in the
thrilling come-from-behind 49-43 championship win.

Lincoln wins their own tournament and three freshmen placed in
double-figures for the Railers.
Brady Miller led the team with 15 points. Gabe Smith scored 12
points and Parker Graue contributed 11 points.
