Lincoln
appeared to be cruising over Urbana for
three quarters, leading by 20 points at one
point, but in the end the Railers were
forced to hang on for the 53-49 win.
The Railers were off to a 17-4 first quarter
lead. Six Railers scored in the first
quarter, with Tyler Sasse hitting two 3s to
lead Lincoln.
By the time halftime rolled around, the
Railers were on top 29-9.
Payton Cook’s five points in the third
quarter led the Railers offense to a 42-23
lead.
Just when an easy win looked to be on the
horizon, Urbana came back in the fourth
quarter and scored more points here than
they had all night long. Their 26 points
scored in the fourth quarter included six
3s. The Railers relied on seven points from
Elijah Pollice to lead them down the stretch
and thanks to a big lead early on, the
Railers were able to survive and advance
with the 53-49 win.
Elijah Pollice led Lincoln with 16 points.
The Railers improved to 25-7 on the season.
