Sonny Milano added a goal and John Gibson had 28 saves for
Anaheim, which won for the first time since Dec. 15. Cam
Atkinson scored a goal and Carter Hart had 26 saves as
Philadelphia ended a four-game West Coast road trip with a 1-2-1
record.
The Flyers were forced into pregame adjustments after forward
Claude Giroux, defenseman Ivan Provorov and one staff member
were placed into the league's COVID-19 protocol earlier Tuesday.
Giroux leads Philadelphia with 29 points.
The Ducks had their own COVID issues Monday as practice was
canceled after forwards Nicolas Deslauriers and Derek Grant, as
well as a staff member, were placed into protocol. The Ducks
also have two of their top four point leaders -- Ryan Getzlaf
and Trevor Zegras -- in the protocol.
Avalanche 4, Blackhawks 3 (OT)
Cale Makar scored the winning goal 2:38 into overtime and Erik
Johnson scored twice in regulation to boost visiting Colorado
over Chicago.
Alex DeBrincat scored power-play goals 40 seconds apart early in
the third period to give Chicago a 3-2 lead, but the Blackhawks
were unable to hold on and lost their fifth straight game.
Patrick Kane and Seth Jones had two assists apiece for the
Blackhawks.
Darcy Kuemper made 28 saves as the Avalanche won for the seventh
time in eight games. Nazem Kadri added two assists.
Bruins 5, Devils 3
David Pastrnak scored the go-ahead goal with 5:49 remaining to
lead Boston past visiting New Jersey.
Curtis Lazar, Oskar Steen, Trent Frederic and Brandon Carlo also
scored, and Linus Ullmark made 23 saves for Boston, which earned
its third straight victory coming out of the NHL's COVID-19
schedule pause.
Nathan Bastian, Tomas Tatar and Damon Severson each had a goal
and Mackenzie Blackwood stopped 29 of 34 shots for New Jersey,
which had won three straight coming out of the break.
Panthers 6, Flames 2
Patric Hornqvist scored two goals and Brandon Montour dished
three assists as Florida defeated Calgary in Sunrise, Fla.
Florida also got goals from Anthony Duclair, Joe Thornton, Ryan
Lomberg and Lucas Carlsson. Sergei Bobrovsky made a season-high
47 saves.
The Flames got goals from Johnny Gaudreau and Blake Coleman.
Gaudreau leads the Flames with 37 points.
Lightning 7, Blue Jackets 2
Tampa Bay's Ondrej Palat scored the game's first two goals in
his three-point night as visiting Tampa Bay broke its three-game
skid with a win over Columbus.
Brayden Point also posted three points with a goal and two
assists, and Corey Perry and Pat Maroon each had a goal and a
helper for the Lightning, who won their fourth straight over
Columbus.
Gustav Nyquist logged a goal and an assist for Columbus, which
lost in regulation at home for the second time in its past eight
games (5-2-1).
Red Wings 6, Sharks 2
Tyler Bertuzzi and Pius Suter each scored two goals to lead
Detroit to a home win over San Jose.
Dylan Larkin and Robby Fabbri also scored for Detroit, which
snapped a two-game home losing streak. Alex Nedeljkovic stopped
24 shots for the Red Wings.
Jasper Weatherby and Alexander Barabanov scored for San Jose,
which dropped its second straight. Sharks goalie James Reimer
was pulled after allowing four goals in 24 shots over the first
two periods. Adin Hill surrendered two goals on seven shots in
the third period.
Jets 3, Coyotes 1
Pierre-Luc Dubois continued his strong bounce-back season by
scoring the deciding goal to lead Winnipeg past struggling
Arizona in Glendale, Ariz.
Evgeny Svechnikov and Nikolaj Ehlers also scored goals, while
Mark Scheifele netted two assists. Goaltender Connor Hellebuyck
made 26 saves for the Jets, who have won three straight games.
Shayne Gostisbehere replied for the Coyotes, who sit last in the
NHL and have just one win in their last nine games (1-7-1).
Goalie Karel Vejmelka stopped 46 shots to give his squad a
chance in what could have been a one-sided loss.
Predators 3, Golden Knights 2
Filip Forsberg scored two goals and Juuse Saros made 41 saves as
Nashville moved into first place in the Central Division by
beating Vegas in Las Vegas.
It was the 28th career two-goal game for Forsberg. Yakov Trenin
also scored for Nashville, which improved to 9-1-1 over its last
11 games.
William Karlsson snapped a six-game goalless drought and also
had an assist, and Shea Theodore also scored for Vegas. Logan
Thompson, the reigning Bastien Memorial Award winner (top
goaltender in the American Hockey League), stopped 23 of 26
shots in his first NHL start.
