[January 05, 2022]  LINCOLN - Leah Kay Newton, 68, of Lincoln passed away on Wednesday, December 22,2021 at the Decatur Memorial Hospital in Decatur.

Visitation: 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at the Jefferson Street Christian Church in Lincoln

Service: Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the church

Funeral home: Peasley Funeral Home, Lincoln     

Obituary

Leah Kay Newton, 68, of Lincoln passed away on Wednesday, December 22,2021 at the Decatur Memorial Hospital in Decatur.

A Memorial Service for Kay will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at the Jefferson Street Christian Church in Lincoln with Mr. Michael Mallick officiatng.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday prior to the service at the church.

Burial will be at a later date in Bethel Cemetery in Emden.

Leah Kay Olson was born on October 28,1953 in Hopedale the daughter of Harlan K. and Mary Whittaker Olson. She was united in marriage to Jim Newton on October 23, 1971. He survives.

Also surviving are her children: Brittany Newton, Beau Newton. Four grandchildren: Austin Newton, Dustin Newton, Gavyn Aderman, Kiera Newton. one brother: Larry (Beth) Olson, one sister: Marla Lewis.

Funeral Director

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: Dale Olson and Kevin Olson.

Kay graduated from the Hartsburg- Emden High School in 1971. She retired as a Crossing Guard at Central School.
Her hobbies included having coffee with friends, reading and spending time with her grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Logan County or the Kidney Foundation.
