Charlene was born on May 29, 1932 in Greenview, the daughter of Charles and Marie (Hildebrand) Parks. She married Walter Georgi, Jr. in 1954, he preceded her in death in 1974. Charlene later married Harold Jeckel in 1980, he preceded her in death in 2021.

Charlene is survived by her children, Michelle (Merlin) Horath of Lincoln and David Jeckel of Springfield; her grandchildren, Lindsey (DJ) Maxheimer of Chestnut, Lacey (Justin) Hott of Lincoln, Derek (Scarlett) Jeckel of Springfield, and Deven Jeckel of Ventura, CA; and many nieces and nephews.

Charlene grew up on a farm near Greenview, but lived the majority of her life in Lincoln. She graduated from Elkhart High School and attended Illinois Wesleyan University studying music. Her love for music continued through her adult life where she was active in the Zion and Immanuel Lutheran Church choirs plus served on the Community Concert committee.

Charlene worked many years at Lincoln Savings and Loan and eventually retired as the branch manager of the Olympic Federal Lincoln office where she loved interacting with her customers and co-workers.  Upon retirement, Charlene enjoyed traveling with Harold and was able to do more of her favorite past-times including shopping and dining with friends. She also had a passion for decorating and in her spare time loved creating floral arrangements for her home. With her infectious smile, Charlene was adored and loved by all who knew her. She will be missed dearly but never forgotten.
