[January 13, 2022]  MOUNT PULASKI - Robert G. “Bob” May, 92, of Mt. Pulaski passed away on Friday, January 7, 2021 at 6: 15 p. m. at St. Clara’s Rehab and Senior Care Center.

Service: A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Robert G. “Bob” May, 92, of Mt. Pulaski, passed away on Friday, January 7, 2022, at St. Clara’s Rehab and Senior Care Center in Lincoln.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Robert Glenn May was born on August 9, 1929, in Lawndale, the son of Bernard and Mary Grace Williamson May. He was united in marriage to Carolyn M. “Carol” Johnson on June 15, 1952. She preceded him in death on October 29, 2011.

Surviving are his children: Debra (George Cosette) May of Los Angles, Ca., Teresa Sefried of Decatur, Robert G. (Michelle) May, Jr. of Mt. Pulaski; four grandchildren: Lauren Sefried, Morgan May, Riley May and Nicholas May; two brothers: Richard May and Deane May; and one sister: Barbara Fink.

He was preceded in death by his wife; three sisters: Helen Haseley, Dorothy Morrell, and Mary Lou Wilson; two brothers: George William May and James “Bud” May.

 

Funeral Director

Bob graduated from the Lincoln Community High School in 1947. He later served in the United States Marines.

He was an Insurance Agent and business owner for many years. He was a member of the Mt. Pulaski United Methodist Church, American Legion Ryman-Fuiten Post #447, Mt. Pulaski Masonic Lodge #87 A.F. & A.M., Ansar Shrine, and the Logan County Shrine Club.

Bob enjoyed basketball, baseball and horticulture, hunting and fishing. He was adamant about attending his grandkids' sporting events.

Memorials may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children or to the Mt. Pulaski Methodist Church.
