Obituary
Gregory L. “Popeye” Simpson, 62, of
Lincoln passed away on Friday, January 7, 2022, at
Lincoln Memorial Hospital.
No services are scheduled. Cremation Rites have been
accorded.
Gregory Lynn Simpson was born on December 8, 1959,
in Lincoln, the son of Willie O. and Phyllis Ann
Wiengarz Simpson.
He is survived by his daughter: Brittney (Brett)
Edwards; three sisters: Alice (Hank) Barr, Patty
(Mike) O’Neill, and Linda Brawdy;
two grandchildren: Abby Morgan and Brooklyn Boehler.
Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son: Jeremy Simpson,
his parents, and one brother: Craig Simpson.

Greg served in the United States
Navy. He was employed at SK Davison Trucking as a
dispatcher.
He loved riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle,
bowling, and watching the Chicago Cubs and Chicago
Bears.
Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital for
Children in St. Louis.
