Foligno scored his 16th goal of the season and 102nd goal of his
career off a pass from Jordan Greenway, who finished with two
assists. Joel Eriksson Ek, Kirill Kaprizov and Kevin Fiala also
scored for Minnesota, which completed a home-and-home sweep over
the Blackhawks in consecutive nights.
Henrik Borgstrom scored two goals to lead the Blackhawks. Alex
DeBrincat also scored for Chicago.
Minnesota goaltender Kaapo Kahkonen turned aside 33 of 36 shots
in the victory.
On the opposite side of the ice, Blackhawks netminder Kevin
Lankinen stopped 40 of 44 shots.
The Blackhawks broke a 2-2 tie with 7:57 remaining in the third
period when Borgstrom knocked in a loose puck after a scramble
in front of the net. It marked the first multi-goal game of his
career and came one night after he was a healthy scratch.
Borgstrom entered the night with two goals in 26 games before
matching that total in 8:06 of ice time.
The Wild pulled even at 3-3 with 2:04 left in the third period.
Greenway snapped a shot from the left circle that was stopped,
but Fiala found the loose puck and punched it in for his 10th
goal.
Chicago opened the scoring at the 9:51 mark of the first period.
Borgstrom stood in the left circle and deflected Erik
Gustafsson's shot from near the blue line.
The Blackhawks made it 2-0 with 2:53 remaining in the first
period. DeBrincat scored his 24th goal on a one-timer from the
left circle off a perfectly placed pass from Seth Jones.
Minnesota cut the deficit to 2-1 on the man advantage in the
final minute of the first period. Eriksson Ek, who was playing
in his second game back from a lower-body injury that sidelined
him for a month, potted his 12th goal by punching in a loose
puck in front of the net.
The score did not change until the third period, when the Wild
pulled even at 2-2 with 9:15 remaining. During another power
play for Minnesota, Mats Zuccarello zipped a pass across the
goal line to Kaprizov, who buried a one-timer for his 17th goal.
