- E. Irene Burger, 86, of Lincoln formerly of Lake
Fork passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Lincoln Village,
Lincoln.

Obituary
E. Irene Burger, 86, of Lincoln
formerly of Lake Fork passed away on Saturday,
January 22, 2022 at Lincoln Village, Lincoln.
Irene was born on August 5, 1935 in Lake Fork, the
daughter of John and Ethel Irene (Haynes) Bryson.
She married Raymond Burger on August 19, 1955 in
Lincoln. He survives in Lincoln.
Irene is also survived by her children, Raymond
“Raymie” Burger of Cornland, Becky (Terry)
Coppenbarger of Lincoln, and Robert (Emilie) Burger
of New Holland, her siblings, Mary (Donald) Riedle
of Mount Pulaski, Gene (Jane) Bryson of Mount
Pulaski and Sue (Delmar) Stewart of Mount Pulaski,
IL; seven grandchildren; fifteen
great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren;
and her dear friend, Jan Johnson of Florida.

Irene was preceded in death by her
parents, four brothers, two sisters, and one
grandson.
Irene worked for several years as a secretary at
Vonderlieth Living Center in Mount Pulaski. She was
a very active member of Buffalo Christian Church.
She enjoyed mushroom hunting and making funnel cakes
with her friend Jan.
Services for Irene will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday,
January 26, 2022 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral
Home in Mount Pulaski. Visitation will be one hour
prior to the service (10:00-11:00am). Burial will
follow the services at Carlyle Cemetery in Lake
Fork.
Memorial donations may be made in Irene’s name to
The Lake Fork Community Center.
