Jenner scored twice and added an assist as the Columbus Blue Jackets
rallied from an early deficit and broke a three-game losing streak
with a 5-3 victory over the visiting New York Rangers on Thursday
night.
The Blue Jackets produced a significantly better showing than
Wednesday, when they allowed 62 shots on goal in a 6-0 home loss to
the Calgary Flames.
Jenner recorded his second two-goal game this season by scoring the
tying goal and getting the Blue Jackets' fourth goal late in the
second.
Sean Kuraly also scored twice, getting the tiebreaking goal and an
empty-net tally. Gustav Nyquist also scored, and Zach Werenski
collected three assists after the Blue Jackets were outscored 13-3
in their three-game skid.
Blue Jackets goalie Joonas Korpisalo made 19 of his 33 saves during
the third period. He preserved the lead with a sprawling glove save
on Julien Gauthier with 10 minutes left during a New York power
play. Korpisalo added another sprawling save on Braden Schneider
with about four minutes remaining before making a glove save on
Barclay Goodrow's one-timer with about 3 1/2 minutes left.
Artemi Panarin and Goodrow scored in the opening 4:44, but the
Rangers lost for only the fourth time in 13 games. Mika Zibanejad
scored a power-play goal in the third period while Panarin and
Schneider collected two assists apiece.

New York's Alexandar Georgiev allowed four goals on
18 shots.
Panarin opened the scoring 89 seconds in when he cut from the left
wing to the middle of the slot and sent a wrist shot under Korpisalo.
Goodrow made it 2-0 a little over three minutes later when he used a
skate to deflect a shot from Schneider into the net.
Columbus scored twice in a span of 1:39 as Nyquist re-directed a
shot from Patrik Laine past Georgiev and Jenner deflected a shot
from the right point by Werenski into the net.
Kuraly gave Columbus the lead 6:18 into the second by getting alone
in the low slot and re-directing a cross-ice pass from Max Domi.
Jenner scored again when his wrist shot from a sharp angle slipped
by Georgiev a little over six minutes later.
Zibanejad's one-timer from the left circle made it a one-goal game
with 12:48 remaining.
