							Theresa Marie Cox, 84, of Lincoln 
							passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2022 at Carle 
							BroMenn Regional Medical Center in Normal.
 A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, July 7, 
							2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in 
							Lincoln with Rev. Narcis Katambe officiating.
 
 Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 
							a.m. at the church on Thursday prior to the service.
 
 A Rosary Service will be held at 9:30 a.m. prior to 
							the visitation at the church.
 
 Burial will be at a later date at the Horse Creek 
							Cemetery in Pawnee, Illinois.
 
 Theresa Marie Looney was born on August 3, 1937 in 
							Jersey City, New Jersey the daughter of Francis A. 
							and Dorothy Ellin Looney.
 
 She was united in marriage to George Franklin Cox on 
							February 16, 1957 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church 
							in Lincoln. He preceded her in death on June 30, 
							1999.
 
 Surviving are her three sons: George M. “Mike” 
							(Janet) Cox of Lincoln, Greg (Theresa) Cox of Myrtle 
							Beach, South Carolina, Joe(Wendy Smith) Cox of 
							Maricopa, Arizona. Nine grandchildren, twenty great 
							grandchildren, one great great granddaughter. Three 
							brothers: Frank Looney of Springfield, Joe Looney of 
							Lincoln, Bernie Hoppy (Maureen) Looney. Several 
							nieces and nephews also survive.

							She was preceded in death by one 
							daughter: Mary Lois Matson, one grandson: Zachary 
							Anderson.
 Theresa graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 
							1955. She retired from the Lincoln Development 
							Center after forty-two years of service.
 
 She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, 
							Knights of Columbus Auxiliary and Emblem Club.
 
 Her hobbies were photography and spending time with 
							her grandchildren.
 
 Memorials may be made to the Holy Family Building 
							Fund.
 
 Peasley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
