[July 05, 2022]  LINCOLN - Amanda Minette Leich, 102, of Lincoln, passed away on Friday, July 1, 2022, at St. Clara’s Rehab and Senior Center.

Visitation:  9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Saturday July 9, 2022, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln

Service:  10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 9, 2022 at the funeral home

Obituary

Amanda Minette Leich, 102, of Lincoln, passed away on Friday, July 1, 2022, at St. Clara’s Rehab and Senior Center.

Amanda was born on December 21, 1919, to Oswald and Amanda Barbara Wallrath in St. Louis, MO. She married Marshall Leich on March 13, 1940, in St. Louis, MO. He preceded her in death on July 8, 2008.

She is survived by her sons, Gary (Jeanne) Leich, and Jack (Nancy) Leich; four grandchildren, Ami (Les) Pitzer, Tim Leich, Jennifer (Doug) Brickey, Jackie (Jeff) Curry; five great-grandchildren, Justin (Shelby) Brickey, Laine Brickey, Brady (Morgan) Curry, Jake Curry, and Drake Leich; great-great-grandchildren include Braxton and Olivia Brickey, and Paige and Emma Curry; as well as many special nieces and nephews.

Amanda was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son, Marshall F. Leich; three sisters, and five brothers. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Amanda was a wonderful wife, mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and fishing. She was also an excellent cook and baker, something she really loved doing, and her family loved eating the results of her cooking. Amanda will be greatly missed.

A Service for Amanda will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday July 9, 2022, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, IL. Visitation will take place one hour prior from 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Zion Cemetery.

Memorials may be made in Amanda’s name to St. John United Church of Christ in Lincoln.
