Inside linebacker Roquan Smith
will not report to Chicago Bears training camp Tuesday as he looks
for a contract extension from the team, NFL Network reported Monday.
Smith is entering the fifth and final year of his rookie contract.
No offer to date for Smith has brought him close to a new deal, the
report said.
The eighth overall selection of the 2018 NFL Draft out of Georgia,
Smith has amassed 524 tackles, 14 sacks and five interceptions over
his first four NFL seasons (61 games).

Smith started all 33 games of the past two regular
seasons for Chicago and earned second-team All-Pro honors both
years. He posted a career-high 163 tackles in 2021, which ranked
fifth in the league.
