He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister: Debbie Lewis.

Daniel graduated from the Lincoln Community High School in 1973. He was employed at International Paper for seventeen years.

He lived his life by enjoying the things that he loved. Many knew him from his fierce competitive nature on the softball diamond or through his years bowling with friends and family. He loved to relax with a fishing pole in his hand, sitting in a tree stand, or by watching his Chicago Cubs (even when they frustrated the hell out of him). But most of all he was obsessed with his grandchildren and supporting in all that they did. Even when his health had waned and he wasn’t able to attend the game or match, he always wanted a play-by-play recap.

Memorials may be made to a College Fund established at the Town and Country Bank for his grandchildren or to his family.

Peasley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
