Obituary
Robert Michael Hanna Sr., 73, of
Taylorville, passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2022
at Taylorville Memorial Hospital in Taylorville.
He was born on December 10, 1948, in Moline, the son
of Robert Marion Hanna and Dorothy (Stumpf) Wyles.
Robert married Elizabeth “Betty” Marie Booker on
April 30, 1976, at Trinity Lutheran Church in
Taylorville. Robert worked at Lehn & Fink Products
Group for 25 years where he met many good friends
including Jack Barrick and son John who became his
second family. Together they lived out their passion
for sprint car racing on the dirt tracks. Robert
also enjoyed fishing, hunting, guns, tinkering in
his shop or working on his prize possession, his
1936 Ford Pickup.
Robert is survived by his wife: Elizabeth, son:
Robert (Crystal) Hanna Jr. of Taylorville, daughter
Michelle (Rex) Ring of Lebanon, MO., grandchildren:
Morgan Ring, Sierra Sakautzky, Gregory Schiche,
brother, Happy Hanna of Edinburg, sister, Jean
Petitt of Owaneco, and several nieces, nephews and
cousins. He was preceded in death by parents and a
sister, Susan Hanna.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2022
from 5-7 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in
Taylorville, Funeral Service will be held on Friday,
May 27, 2022, at 10 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in
Taylorville and burial will be immediately following
in Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville.
The family invites you for lunch and to share
memories at Manner’s Park Chautauqua Pavilion after
services are complete.
