If you love being outdoors and hands-on learning, you will love the
4-H Shooting Sports program! Under the guidance of a Certified 4-H
Shooting Sports Coordinator and trained adult volunteers,
participants can learn one or all the disciplines offered through
4-H: archery, shotgun, rifle, .22 pistol, and hunting and outdoor
skills.
What makes our program different? 4-H Shooting Sports clubs are
founded on the principles of Positive Youth Development. Our primary
goal is to support the youth in the program – to ensure they feel
welcome, they grow in leadership independence, and they are inspired
to be generous in service to others, as they master skills in the
Shooting Sports project. The focus of all 4-H programs is the
development of youth both as individuals and as responsible,
productive citizens. Through the 4-H Shooting Sports program, youth
learn marksmanship, the safe and responsible use of firearms, the
principles of shooting and archery, and much more. The program
activities and the support of caring adult leaders provide young
people with opportunities to develop life skills, self-worth, and
conservation ethics.

rifle, and hunting and outdoor skills are open to 8- to 18-year-old
