Jake Burger legged out an infield single off John King (1-2)
with two outs in the eighth inning and advanced to second on a
base hit from Yoan Moncada. Grandal, who had an RBI single in
the second inning, brought both runners home on a shot to right
field to give Chicago a 5-3 lead.
Josh Harrison added an RBI single and Danny Mendick belted a
two-run homer to cap the scoring in the eighth inning. Mendick's
homer was his second of the season for the White Sox, who posted
their fourth win in their last six games.
Kendall Graveman (2-1) picked up the win despite allowing Corey
Seager's game-tying homer with two outs in the top of the eighth
inning. Graveman allowed that one run on two hits and struck out
two in one inning of work.
Nathaniel Lowe homered to lead off the fifth inning and Adolis
Garcia went deep in the sixth for the Rangers, who have lost
seven of their last nine games.
A.J. Pollock's RBI double gave Chicago a 3-2 lead in the seventh
inning before Seager forged a tie by crushing a 2-1 slider from
Graveman in the eighth. Seager's homer was his team-leading 12th
of the season and first since May 31.
Lowe leveled the contest at 1-1 in the fifth inning after
sending a 1-2 curveball from Davis Martin off the right-field
foul pole.
Garcia deposited a 3-1 changeup from Martin over the wall in
center field to give Texas a 2-1 lead with two outs in the sixth
inning.
The White Sox knotted it up in the bottom of the sixth after
Luis Robert reached on a fielder's choice, stole second and
third base before scoring after catcher Sam Huff's throw sailed
into left field.
Rangers right-hander Matt Bush was summoned to make his third
start of the season after scheduled starter Glenn Otto was
placed on the COVID-19-related injured list prior to the game.
Catcher Mitch Garver also was put on the list.
