On June 10, 2022, the Logan County State’s Attorney charged Jerome
A. Allen (DOB: 03/11/1982) of the 1500 block of College Street of
Beason, Illinois with ten counts of child pornography.

This case began by the Logan County Sheriff’s Office receiving a
cyber-tip from the Illinois Attorney General’s Office. The Logan County
Sheriff’s Office has a designated deputy assigned to the Internet Crimes
Against Children Task Force, which is a nationwide law enforcement
effort dedicated to investigating and prosecuting internet crimes
against children.
The initial incident was reported by Instagram to the National Center
for Missing and Exploited Children, who then generated the cyber tip.
Through the subsequent investigation, it was learned that Jerome A.
Allen had sent and received multiple digital files of child pornography.
On June 2, 2022, the Logan County Sheriff’s Office executed a search
warrant on Allen’s residence and recovered multiple electronic devices.
Allen was detained near his home, interviewed, and arrested.

On June 4, 2022, a judge set Allen’s bond at $100,000 (10%), which
he posted later that day. As a condition of Allen’s bond, he is to
have no contact with anyone under the age of 18.
The charges against Allen are merely accusations, and Allen is
presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
