[June 13, 2022]  WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS - Floyd D. Rose, 71, of West Memphis, Arkansas, formerly of Lincoln, passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

Visitation:  9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 7th at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln

Service:  Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home

Obituary

Floyd D. Rose, 71, of West Memphis, Arkansas, formerly of Lincoln, passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

Floyd was born on April 23, 1951, in Cave in Rock, to Jack and Helen (Cacey) Rose. He married Blanche Stiles on October 1, 1982, in Decatur. She survives in West Memphis, Arkansas where they had made their home for the past several years.

Also surviving Floyd is his daughter: Lori Whitham, along with five grandchildren: Libby, Justin, Crystal, Cindy, and Keith Foster, one great grandchild, one brother, Seba “Joe” Rose, one sister, Merna Matthews, and a sister in-law, Sharon Hayes.

Floyd is preceded in death by his parents Jack Rose and Helen Hayes, one brother, Michael Hayes and two sisters: Velma Coffey and Debbie Hayes.

 

Floyd grew up in Lincoln where he graduated from Lincoln Community High School and later graduated with an Associate Degree from Lincoln College. He then spent many years working as an over the road truck driver, welder, and rebuilding railroad cars. He retired from Fed Ex as an over the road truck driver. Floyd enjoyed motorcycle riding, woodworking, and even “tried to grow the perfect rose”.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 7th at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:00-11:00 a.m. also at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Mount Pulaski Cemetery.

Memorials may be made in Floyd’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
