[June 24, 2022]   Two murderous old ladies, a Theodore Roosevelt impersonator, and a theater critic in love.  Mix those all together with the Lincoln Community Theatre organization and you have the uproariously funny dark comedy Arsenic and Old Lace by Joseph Kesserling.

Directed by Tim Searby and Brandon Davis, this farce kicks off the official 50th anniversary season of LCT with a June play, a July musical, and a September gala, all in the auditorium at Lincoln Community High School.

“I’m just really enjoying this show,” said Davis, who has worked triple duty as co-director, LCT President, and actor for this show. “We will finish the summer season with ‘Wizard of Oz,’ and I’m looking forward to just assisting where I can for that one.

“This has been a lot of work, but so much fun,” Davis continued. “All the pieces are coming together, and it’s so funny.”

The set, designed by Jeff Prince, was executed by the team of Jamie Voyles and Carolyn Schreiber, among many others, on the Dan McLaughlin Stage at LCHS.

The production staff also includes Lisa Kuhlman helping with costumes, Jill Voyles assisting with props, Timber Ziegler and Tegan Follis handling hair and makeup, and Katie Gosda and Keith Snyder serving as liaisons for the LCT Board of Directors for the production.

Programs, publicity and house will be handled by Carolyn Schreiber, Tammy Dietrich and Holly Woodhall.

The performances begin on Thursday, June 23 at 7:30 pm, continue at 7:30 pm on Friday and Saturday, and conclude on Sunday with a 2 pm matinee.

Tickets are available online at www.lincolncommunitytheatre.org,  at the door, or can be reserved via phone at 217-671-6371.

The LCT Arsenic and Old Lace set was built and decorated by the skillful hands of Jamie Voyles, Carolyn Schreiber, and their crew for the June production.

Nancy Nickerson as Abby Brewster uses her Victorian charm and grace to convince Mike Koke’s Mr. Gibbs to rent a room at the Brewster home in Lincoln Community Theatre’s production of Arsenic and Old Lace which runs at the Lincoln Community High School auditorium June 23-26, 2022.

Carol Woodrum and Nancy Nickerson play sisters Martha and Abby Brewster, who manipulate elderly men to stay their final nights at the Brewster home, without knowing it’s their final nights in Lincoln Community Theatre’s production of the comedy Arsenic and Old Lacy at the LCHS auditorium June 23-26.
