Obituary
Robert “Bob” Freeman, 85, died at
11:10AM on Monday, June 20, 2022, at his home.
Bob was born on October 2, 1936, in Lincoln, the son
of Delbert and Margaret (Salman) Freeman. His
parents and two brothers, Harold Freeman, and Dennis
Freeman; and sister, Doris Rogers preceded him in
death.
He graduated from Lincoln Community High School in
1955 where he was a member of the National Honor
Society and attended Lincoln College after high
school. He married Carol A. Caulkins (deceased) in
Knoxville, in 1959. They had one son, Duane Freeman.
Bob was a store manager working for the Jones Shoe
Company until 1962. Then he started working as the
store manager for the Al Schoen Shoe Store in
Lincoln. In 1973, he began working at Lincoln
Development Center and retired from the Center in
1999.

He was a kind, caring, and gentle man
who loved to fish, enjoyed reading, and built his
own computers. He enjoyed watching cartoons up until
the very end.
Bob is survived by his son Duane (Janet) Freeman of
Redding, California; three grandchildren; nine great
grandchildren; and lifelong companion, Linda
Squires.
A memorial service for Bob will be held at 11 a.m.
on Friday, July 1, 2022, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln. A visitation will be held
two hours prior from 9 a.m.-11a.m. His ashes will be
buried after the service at Zion Cemetery in
Lincoln.
Memorial donations may be made in Bob’s name to St.
Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
