[February 28, 2022]  LINCOLN - Robert C. Gehlbach, 95, of Lincoln passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

Visitation: 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 25, 2022 at Holy Family Catholic Church

Rosary:  9:30 a.m. Friday at the church

Service: 11 a.m. Friday at the church

Funeral home: Peasley Funeral Home, Lincoln     

Obituary

Robert C. Gehlbach, 95, of Lincoln passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

A Mass of Christian Burial Service will be held on Friday, February 25, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church.

A Rosary Service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Friday at Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Lincoln.

Robert C. Gehlbach was born on July 7, 1926 the son of Edward P. and Goldie Ann (Thompson) Gehlbach. He was united in marriage to Margaret M. Johndrow on May 1, 1948 in Green Bay, Wisonsin. She preceded him in death on December 6, 2011.

Surviving Bob are his children: Gary (Christyne) Gehlbach, Marianne (Daniel) Whitney, Lynne (Bert) Buehler, Dianne (Ronald ) Busch, Phillip (Charles Ingle) Gehlbach, Carol (Nathaniel) Radwine. Eleven Grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: John Gehlbach and Arthur Gehlbach. Two sisters: Lois Kavelman, Virginia Splain. One grandson Ryan Liesman.

Funeral Director

Bob graduated from Lincoln Community High School in 1944 and attended Illinois Wesleyan University Bloomington, Ill.

Bob retired from the Insurance Industry after 35 years of service.

He was a member of Catholic Church of the Little Flower in Springfield.

Bob was a member of the Knight’s of Columbus, Faithful Navigator and Third and Fourth Degree Knight, past Rotary member and Chamber of Commerce in Green Valley Arizona, Linpro Square Dance Club.

His hobbies included fishing, traveling and was an avid Bears, Cubs and Illini sports fan

Memorials may be made to Carroll Catholic School in Lincoln.

Peasley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
