Cory Lolling sentenced to 33 years in child pornography case

[March 02, 2022]    On February 23, 2022, Judge Jonathan Wright sentenced Cory Lolling (d.o.b. 10-16-84) of the 100 block of West Chestnut Street in Hartsburg, Illinois to 33 years in the Department of Corrections.

On September 7, 2021, Lolling pleaded guilty to multiple counts of Child Pornography, each a Class X Felony.

During the sentencing hearing, Logan County State’s Attorney Bradley Hauge presented evidence that on more than one occasion Lolling had sent the child pornography through social media platforms. In executing a search warrant on Lolling’s home, law enforcement recovered more child pornography. When confronted with the items found, Lolling confirmed his preference for younger females.
 

In 2008, Lolling had been convicted of the offense of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, a Class 2 felony. “Every time child pornography is shared, the child is re-victimized, and it is a reminder of something terrible that happened to the child,” said State’s Attorney Hauge. “Sharing child pornography re-enforces and promotes human trafficking and harming of children. The children depicted in child pornography are seriously harmed, many times physically, and always emotionally.

"There is no excuse, justification, or defense to distributing or possessing child pornography. This sentence is significant and shows that this type of offense will not be tolerated in Logan County. I will continue to seek high sentences for anyone who seeks to exploit children.”

Lolling was given 588 days credit toward his sentence for the time he spent in pre-trial detention.

Pursuant to Illinois law, Lolling must serve at least 50% of his sentence, followed by three years to natural life of mandatory supervised release, and upon his release from prison, he must register as a sexual predator for the remainder of his life.
