[March 14, 2022]   Lincoln sophomore Kloe Froebe scored 679 points during the 2021-22 season for the Lady Railers, shattering the previous record set by none other than her sister, Kaelyn Froebe. The previous record held by Kaelyn Froebe was 551 points scored during the 2015-16 season.

The younger Froebe put up very impressive stats this season, averaging 24.3 points per game, 7.3 rebounds per game, 4 assists per game and 4.6 steals per game.

Froebe also missed six regular season games due to injury. She was instrumental in guiding her team to a 24-9 record this season and with two more years left in her high school career, the best is yet to come for Froebe and her very talented teammates.

The 5’9 Froebe also earned her second AP All-State selection in her career. She was named to the Class 3A AP First Team following this season. Only five players are named to the AP First Team. Named to the first team along with Froebe were: Katie Krupa (Morton), Mallory Ramage (Matttoon), Kammie Ludwig (Geneseo) and Janae Kent (Oak Forest).

Froebe was also recognized by the IBCA, making the Class 3A First Team for girls basketball.

And finally Froebe really capped off a spectacular sophomore season being named a finalist for the prestigious Miss Illinois Gatorade Player of the Year in girls basketball. Froebe’s stats above outshine that of the 2021-22 winner.

Katy Eidle, a 6’ junior of John Hersey High School in Arlington Heights, was named Miss Illinois Gatorade Player of the Year just last week. Eidle averaged 19.9 points per game, 5.3 rebounds per game, 4.1 assists per game and 2.9 steals per game.

The sky is the limit for Froebe, who has received dozens of Division I offers from all over the country, and we are very lucky to have her dominating the courts right here in Central Illinois.

Congratulations, Kloe!
