On
Wednesday morning, U.S. Representative for the new
15th District in Illinois, Rodney Davis (center),
paid a visit to Lincoln College. After meeting with
College President Dr. David Gerlach and Vice
President Dr. Donna Bradley; Davis visited with
students at the college's student center. He later
addressed the students of Dr. Ron Keller's History
class.
With the redistricting, Davis will run for election
to the 15th District this year. The district, he
says, is much larger than his former district. He
has been out and about recently visiting communities
throughout the new district, which will officially
take effect in early 2023, after the November 2022
election. The new 15th District, located in western
and central Illinois, includes all or parts of
Adams, Bond, Brown, Calhoun, Cass, Coles, DeWitt,
Edgar, Greene, Hancock, Henderson, Jersey, Logan,
Macon, Madison, Mercer, Menard, Montgomery, Morgan,
Pike, Sangamon, Schuyler, Scott, Shelby, Christian,
Vermillion, and Warren counties.
Through the balance of this year, Logan County will
remain in the 18th District with Representative
Darin LaHood. After the elections and if elected,
LaHood will then represent the new 16th District.
LDN will have additional coverage of Davis' visit to
the college in a future edition.
