Sacred Heart-Griffin defeats Railsplitters 12-6

The
Sacred Heart-Griffin Cyclones used two big innings on Monday
afternoon to put the Railsplitters away by a final score of 12-6.
Lincoln was on the board first with an RBI single by Daulton Miller in
the third inning.
Lincoln’s 1-0 lead was short-lived with the Cyclones scoring six times
in the fourth inning. Two run-scoring triples by the Cyclones did the
most damage as they took over the lead 6-1.
Lincoln would chip away at the lead, scoring three more runs over the
next two innings. Andrew Graue’s sacrifice fly scored Alex Hoffert, who
had tripled to start the inning. Colbie Glenn added an RBI double to
score Jaden Klopp. Alex Hoffert added another RBI single to score Sean
Raffa and after five innings of play, Lincoln trailed 6-4.
The Cyclones came back in the sixth inning to score five more runs and
take an 11-4 lead.
An RBI double by Trent Koehler and an RBI single by Trey Schilling in
the seventh inning completed the Railsplitters scoring.
Sacred Heart-Griffin wins the hit fest by a final score of 12-6.
Lincoln had 11 hits in the game.

Sacred Heart-Griffin had 15 hits in the game.
Mitch Dye was the winning pitcher for the Cyclones. He struck out
six Railsplitters over four innings of work.
Wyatt Mammen (1-1) took the loss for Lincoln. He worked three and
two-thirds innings and struck out seven batters. He allowed six runs
on seven hits.
Trent Koehler tossed one-third of an inning, striking out one
batter.
Andrew Graue threw the final three innings. He struck out three
batters and allowed six runs on eight hits.
Offensively for Lincoln, Trey Schilling, Sean Raffa and Alex Hoffert
each had two hits. Daulton Miller, Trent Koehler, Andrew Graue,
Jaden Klopp and Colbie Glenn each had one hit apiece for the
Railsplitters.
The Railsplitters will host Dunlap tomorrow at Mike Curry Field.
Game time is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
