NFL transactions roundup: Cornelius Lucas re-signs with Commanders

[March 25, 2022] Washington Commanders offensive tackle Cornelius Lucas signed a two-year, $8.2 million contract on Thursday.

 


ESPN reported the news citing Lucas' agent, Dan Saffron.

Lucas, 30, appeared in 29 games (15 starts) during his two previous seasons with Washington. He has played in 82 games (31 starts) with the Detroit Lions (2014-16), Los Angeles Rams (2017), New Orleans Saints (2018), Chicago Bears (2019) and Washington.

He entered the league in 2014 as an undrafted free agent.

--Defensive end Kerry Hyder will rejoin the San Francisco 49ers on a one-year, $1.5 million deal, ESPN reported.

Per the report, Hyder will receive $750,000 guaranteed and $750,000 in sack incentives.

Hyder, 30, recorded career-high totals in sacks (8.5) and tackles (49) with the 49ers in 2020 before signing with the Seattle Seahawks last season. He collected 33 tackles, two fumble recoveries and 1.5 sacks in 15 games (seven starts) with the Seahawks before being released earlier this month.
