Tomahawk Awards Given in Scholastic Bowl

[March 24, 2022] Local teens were granted awards at the recent culmination of the Tomahawk Conference season for scholastic bowl.

 

Throughout the season, Athens, Delavan, Greenview, Hartsburg-Emden, Illini Bluffs, Illini Central, Midwest Central, and Mt Pulaski played each other two times each.

The school with the best record in the conference wins the conference title, and the top 5 individual scorers overall are named to the All-Conference Team.

This year, the winning school, with a conference record of 13-1 is Athens.

The students named to the All-Conference team are:

William Wisniewski of Hartsburg-Emden with 70 toss-ups, or an average of 5 per game;

Paul Krumpe of Illini Bluffs with 65 toss-ups, or an average of 4.64 per game;

Chris Powell, from Athens, with 64 toss-ups, or an average of 4.57 per game;

Tom Atwood from Illini Central with 54 toss-ups, or an average of 3.86 per game;

Jinhua Adair of Delavan with 36 toss-ups or an average of 3 per game.
