[March 28, 2022]  LINCOLN - Marie Elaine Bishop, 74, of Lincoln passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at her home.

Visitation: 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, March 31, 2022, at the Peasley Funeral Home in Lincoln

Service: 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home

Obituary

Marie Elaine Bishop, 74, of Lincoln, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at her home.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. at the Peasley Funeral Home in Lincoln, with Rev. Donald McMasters officiating.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2022, prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.

Marie Elaine Gerson was born on September 14, 1947, in Alton, Illinois, the daughter of Emil and Norene Sievers Gerson. She was united in marriage to Charles Kidd on November 12, 1966. He preceded her in death on May 8, 1998. She was later united in marriage to Guy Gordon Bishop on April 6, 2013. He survives.

Also surviving are her children: Steven P. (Tammy) Kidd, Jeffrey A. Kidd, and Angela R. (James) Jones; one granddaughter; one great-granddaughter; and one sister: Lois (Ron) Neal.

 

Funeral Director

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter: Annette Susan Hutchcraft; and one brother: Gary Gerson.

Elaine graduated from the Roxana High School. She retired from the Wood River School District where she had worked as a cook. Her hobbies included playing cards and Bingo.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Final arrangements are entrusted with Peasley Funeral Home of Lincoln.
