[March 29, 2022]  LINCOLN - Reba J. Amerson, 83, of Lincoln, received everlasting healing as she went to heaven at 3:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

Visitation: Family will greet friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at the Jefferson Street Christian Church.

Service: Private family services will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Jefferson Street Christian Church.

Graveside Service:  Monday, March 21, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. E.S.T. at Valhalla Memorial Gardens in Bloomington, Indiana.

Reba J. Amerson, 83, of Lincoln, received everlasting healing as she went to heaven at 3:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

Private family services will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Jefferson Street Christian Church.

Family will greet friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at the Jefferson Street Christian Church.

Graveside Services will be held on Monday, March 21, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. E.S.T. at Valhalla Memorial Gardens in Bloomington, Indiana.

A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, March 21, 2022, at the Little Flat Rock Christian Church in Rushville, Indiana.

Reba Joan Ridge was born on November 10, 1938, in Bloomington, Indiana, the daughter of Orville B. and Dorothy Mae Stillions Ridge. She was united in marriage to Peter Frank Smith, III, on February 28, 1959. He preceded her in death on September 25, 1975. Reba later married David Amerson on November 1, 1981, and they were happily married for forty years. He survives.

Also surviving are her children: Sally (Steve) Smiley, St. Louis, MO; Patrick (Terri) Smith, Rushville, IN; Craig J. (Brenda) Smith, Chillicothe, IL; and Carolina (Carlton) Amerson, Madison, AL.; eighteen grandchildren: Justin (Jackie) Smiley, Sarah (Anthony) Harrison; Craig C. (Sarah) Smith, Tyler (Brittany) Smith, Peter S. Smith, Johntel (Megan) Smith, Latisha Burton, Alesha (Joseph) Smith, Charmion (Jordan) Ford, Jordan Smith, Casey Smith; Tyson (Emily) Smith, Tanner (Alexa) Smith, Josiah Smith, Mikayla Smith, Devin Smith; Cortnee (Joey) Womack, and Christian (Hailey) Tuttle; twenty-three great-grandchildren: Laila, Hazel, Eden, and Jemma Smiley; Liam Harrison; Ellie, Jack and Cooper Smith; Kylee Fowle, Owen King; Kaiden Burton, Pierce McClintic; Romi Greene; Chloe and Ares Ford; Oliver and Hannah Smith; Dane and Ellowyn Smith; Elliott, Dominic, and Gabrielle Womack; and Clara Tuttle.

Funeral Director

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Peter F. Smith, and great- grandson Aaron Harrison.

Reba graduated from the Bloomington High School in 1956 in Bloomington, Indiana. She was an award-winning Administrative Assistant at Indiana University for 42 years, where she blessed many during her fulfilling career. She is a follower of Jesus Christ, selflessly serving her Lord and Savior. She was a member of Jefferson Street Christian Church and an adopted member of several other church families.

Reba loved spending time with her family, enjoyed playing and watching golf, and she faithfully cheered on her Hoosiers and the Cincinnati Reds. It would be impossible to calculate the number of baseball, basketball, football and soccer games, wrestling matches, cross-country and track meets, choral and band concerts, golf tournaments, horse shows, gymnastics events, and church musicals, Mom/Grandma Reba attended as #1 fan of her children and grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Little Flat Rock Christian Church or Jefferson Street Christian Church.
