[March 29, 2022]  LINCOLN - Kathryn S. “Kathy” Roos, 82, of Lincoln, IL, passed away at 7:59 P.M. Friday March 25, 2022, at The Christian Village in Lincoln.

Visitation:  Wednesday, March 30th, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln and one hour prior to the funeral at the church on Thursday

Service:  10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 31st at Zion Lutheran Church in Lincoln

Obituary

Kathryn S. “Kathy” Roos, 82, of Lincoln, IL, passed away at 7:59 P.M. Friday March 25, 2022, at The Christian Village in Lincoln.

Kathy was born on June 12, 1939, in Kenney, IL, to Edward August and Verna Mae (Carlson) Laramee. She was united in marriage to Marlin W. Roos on November 20, 1960, in Clinton, IL.

Kathy is survived by her husband of 61 years, Marlin, her three children, Douglas Roos of Lincoln, Debra (Scott) Leake of Rockaway Beach, MO, and Deanna (Shawn) Hays of Lincoln, IL, 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, twin brothers, Ronald and Arnold, and brothers, Duane and Robert.

Kathy was an Avon Sales Representative for 45 years, worked at Franklin Life Insurance, and was a beauty operator.

She was a loyal member of Zion Lutheran Church where she served on the Ladies Aid, sang in the choir, taught Sunday school, delivered flowers and portals of prayer to shut ins. She was also on the Lutheran Layman’s League and Missionary Society. Kathy also loved playing pinochle at the Oasis Senior Center.

Services for Kathy will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 31st at Zion Lutheran Church in Lincoln, with Rev. Mark Thompson officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 30th, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln and 1 hour prior to services on Thursday at the church. Burial will follow services at Zion Cemetery, Lincoln, IL.

Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, or Zion Lutheran School.
