Open Arms Christian Fellowship Church invited the community to
celebrate its 15 -year-anniversary with a giant street party in
downtown Lincoln.
On Wednesday evening, Ap.27, 2022, the historic Logan Courthouse
lawn and the two streets surrounding were filled with people having
a great time.
The courthouse made a lovely back drop as the sun began to set. The
Kickapoo and Pulaski Streets were blocked-off for games, giant
inflatables, food and drink stands, picnic tables and a music stage.
Families, individuals and couples filled the streets. Some let loose
playing around, kids tumbled on the lawn or bounced in bounce
houses, teens and older folks visited, and in general the square was
abuzz with energy and laughter for this first outdoor celebration of
the year.

The church's youth band that plays every Wednesday evening at the church kicked
off the music portion. The band revved up the youth with high energy praise
music. Plenty of kids were dancing in the street. The regular worship band took
over next.
In addition to live music and activities there were drawings for freebies.
OACF is a lively church with open arms and hearts living the slogan "The church
of second chances."
The church is anticipating a move from next to Chi's on Woodlawn Road to the
Lincoln Christian University campus east of Lincoln on Route 10, as LCU scales
down its on campus ministry and does more outreach.
