The Railsplitters scored their lone run in the first inning when
Colbie Glenn and Trey Schilling reached base on singles. After
Alex Hoffert walked, the bases were loaded with two outs for
Andrew Graue. Glenn would score on a passed ball during Graue’s
at-bat. Graue would eventually walk to load the bases again. A
fly out by Jaden Klopp ended the inning for the Railsplitters.
Champaign Central took a 2-1 lead in the top of the second
inning and continued to build the lead throughout the game.
A four-run seventh inning really put the win away for Champaign
Central.
The Railsplitters managed to get a couple baserunners in the
bottom of the seventh inning but still suffered the 8-1 loss.
Aidan Nemeth tossed the complete game, allowing eight runs on
eleven hits. Only two of the runs were earned. Nemeth struck out
three batters and walked three.
Lincoln had four hits in the game.
Sean Raffa, Trey Schilling, Colbie Glenn and Jaden Klopp each
had one hit for Lincoln.
The Railsplitters fall to 12-8 on the season.
Lincoln will host Beardstown today at 4:30 p.m. at Mike Curry
Field.
