The Railsplitters loaded the bases in the top of the first
inning as Daulton Miller walked and Trey Schilling and Sean
Raffa had base hits. With two outs, Andrew Graue smashed a
single to left and two runs scored.
The Braves took a short-lived 3-2 lead in the second inning.
Lincoln plated six runs in the top of the third inning. After
Raffa tied the game on a fielder’s choice, the Railsplitters
took over the lead on a line drive to left by Jaden Klopp. Alex
Hoffert scored the go-ahead run and Lincoln never trailed again.
Jake Baker added a two-run single to increase the lead. The
Railsplitters were also helped in the inning by a bases loaded
walk and a couple hit batters to end the inning with an 8-3
lead.
The Braves added two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.
The Railsplitters added three runs in the top of the fifth
inning with Sean Raffa and Alex Hoffert driving in runs.
Hoffert drove in two more runs in the top of the sixth inning.
The Railsplitters also scored again on a bases loaded hit by
pitch and a passed ball.
The Braves were retired easily in the bottom of the sixth
inning, ending the game early via the 10-run rule by a final
score of 16-5.
Andrew Graue led Lincoln at the plate. Graue was 3-for-4 with
two RBIs and a run scored.
Alex Hoffert was 2-for-4 with four RBIs and two runs scored.
Trey Schilling, Sean Raffa, Jaden Leadley and Jake Baker also
recorded multi-hits in the game.
Colbie Glenn and Jaden Klopp also contributed a hit apiece.
Andrew Graue earned the win for Lincoln. Graue allowed five runs
on seven hits over six innings. Only three of the runs were
earned. Graue struck out three batters and walked four.
Game Two

Mount Zion 5
Jaden Klopp broke a 5-5 tie in the top of the seventh inning
with a base hit to left, scoring Andrew Graue with the go-ahead
run. With two outs in the inning, Graue singled to left field to
start the rally. After Jaden Leadley walked, Klopp stepped to
the plate and came through for the Railsplitters.
Mount Zion took a 1-0 lead early in the game but the
Railsplitters took over a 2-1 lead in the top of the second
inning.
Mount Zion tied the game 2-2 in the bottom of the second inning.
In the bottom of the third inning, the Braves jumped ahead 5-2.
In the top of the fifth inning, the Railsplitters tied the game
5-5 thanks in part to a couple errors committed by the Braves.
Daulton Miller and Trey Schilling each scored on errors in the
inning. Colbie Glenn scored on a ground out by Sean Raffa.
After Klopp’s run-scoring single in the top of the seventh
inning, the Braves were retired 1-2-3 in the bottom of the
seventh inning.
Lincoln completes the sweep of Mount Zion by winning game two
6-5.
Wyatt Mammen started the game for Lincoln. He tossed two and
one-third innings, allowing five runs on three hits. Only four
of the runs were earned. He struck out five batters and walked
six.
Sean Raffa pitched the final four and two-thirds innings,
earning the win. Raffa allowed just one hit and no runs. He
struck out four batters.
The Railsplitters improved their record to 12-7 on the season.
Lincoln will host Champaign Central today at 4:30 p.m. at Mike
Curry Field.
