It
takes a lot of concentration to successfully run an
obstacle course with a bicycle. It becomes even more
complicated when the wind whips and temperatures require
your winter coat. However, this little lady as one of
the smallest bikers at the event did a very good job on
Sunday as she participated in the annual Bike Rodeo in
Lincoln.
The rodeo this year was held in the parking lot of
Lincoln Center on the campus of Lincoln College.

Last
weekend's Elkhart Spring Fling more or less got flung to
the wayside by cold weather and high winds throughout
the community. Even so, local merchants were not
discouraged because they have a wonderful season ahead
of them. The unique small shops in the town enjoy stops
from guests traveling the iconic Route 66 throughout the
summer and fall.
They also hope to attract shoppers as the stores in the
town offer unique items that cannot be found in your
local big box stores.
New for this season is the Elkhart Station, which
features all Illinois-made products from eggs produced
in Elkhart to a popular soda pop made in Lebanon,
Illinois and much more; the store is a gem.
Elkhart station is located right next door to the
Country Bumpkin, where Gillette Ransom and her staff
will greet you with pleasure and share with you all the
great items they feature in the little shop. The Country
Bumpkin is also a Logan County Tourism Bureau-sponsored
visitor center with information about many of the great
attractions throughout the county.
