 The run/walk has been going on for the last 20+
years, rallying the supporters and involving the community.
The walk itself took place on a two-mile-course starting at the PRC
building on North Union Street, then took a short jog on Elm Street,
headed east on Eighth Street, then north along Logan Street and took
a final turn West on Delavan Street back to the PRC building.
Participants faced gusty winds and chilly temperatures as they
walked the course between 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. over streets,
sidewalks, driveways and grass to reach their final destination.
About 24 participants came out: men, women and
children. All sponsored participants received a newly designed PRC
t-shirt, goody bags, and enjoyed a prepared lunch at 11:30 at the
PRC building. Prizes were awarded to the top three walkers, as well
as incentives for top fundraisers.
The Pregnancy Resource Center in Lincoln is a
Christian non-denominational organization that aids and supports
women and families with counseling, physical support, medical
services, education services, supplies and love prior to and during
pregnancy, and in raising children.

Their services are free to the public and PRC is staffed by both
paid employees and volunteers. PRC's medical services include pregnancy tests,
ultrasounds, STI testing, and APR chemical abortion reversals.
The hallmark of their offerings is a free education program
called HOPE (Helping Others Parent through Education). People who take the
classes can get help with diapers, wipes, car seats etc.
The PRC motto is, "When authentic love and truth meet together, we have
opportunities to display the mercy of Christ in the lives of those around us --
for moments of mercy."
Director Ellen Orns said that between sponsored participants and donations from
business sponsors they raised an estimated $6,330 from the event. Orns expressed
her gratitude on behalf of PRC to the Lincoln community for their support.
