Jake Baker scored the Railsplitters first run of the game in the
bottom of the fourth inning. Baker and Drew Eimer each walked in
the inning. Baker advanced to third on a passed ball and scored
on the double steal pulled off by him and Eimer.
Prairie Central scored twice in the top of the fifth inning to
take a brief 2-1 lead.
Andrew Graue started the Railsplitters fifth inning with a
single and he scored on a double by Sean Raffa to tie the game.
After both Alex Hoffert and Jaden Klopp were hit by pitches,
Jaden Leadley singled to drive in Rafffa with the go-ahead run.
The Railsplitters added another run on an RBI single by Baker. A
bases loaded walk to Colbie Glenn plated another run for
Lincoln. Drew Hayes followed with a line drive base hit to right
to drive in both Leadley and Baker and the Lincoln lead had
increased to 7-2.
With two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning, Glenn singled
to left to drive in Klopp and the Railsplitters were up 8-2.
Prairie Central would score two runs on three hits in the top of
the seventh inning but their rally ended on a pop-up in foul
territory caught by third baseman Jaden Klopp.
Lincoln wins by a final score of 8-4 over Prairie Central.
The Railsplitters offense had eight hits.
Andrew Graue was 2-for-3 and scored a run.
Drew Hayes was 1-for-1 with two RBIs.
Jaden Klopp was 1-for-3 with two runs scored.
Sean Raffa, Jaden Leadley, Jake Baker and Colbie Glenn each had
one hit and one RBI for Lincoln.
Aidan Nemeth picked up the win in relief. Nemeth pitched three
innings, allowing two runs on three hits. He struck out two
batters.
Sam Gleason started the game for Lincoln. Gleason worked four
innings, allowing two runs on four hits. He struck out six
batters.
The Railsplitters honored ten seniors before the game. Aidan
Nemeth, Jake Baker, Alex Hoffert, Sean Raffa, Jaden Klopp, Drew
Eimer, Andrew Graue, Sam Gleason, Daulton Miller and Elijah
Pollice were honored for their dedication to the Railsplitters
baseball program.
The Railsplitters record is now 13-9 on the season.
Lincoln will host Pleasant Plains today at 4:30 p.m. at Mike
Curry Field.
