[May 16, 2022]  LINCOLN - Evelyn J. Jackson, 88, of Lincoln passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at her home.

Service: Burial will be at a later date in the Zion Cemetery.

Obituary

Evelyn J. Jackson passed away at her home on Thursday, May 5, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

Burial will be at a later date in the Zion Cemetery.

Evelyn Jane White was born on December 19, 1933 in Chicago the daughter of Juel and Carrie White. She was united in marriage to Donald William Jackson. He preceded her in death on March 14, 1989.

Surviving are her son: Tracy (Pam) Jackson, Stepdaughter: Joyce Goodman, Daughter-in-law Mary Beth Jackson, Four grandchildren: Brittaney(Casey) O’Donoghue, Kelli (Jeremy) Wells, Matthew (Nicole) Jackson, Kyle Marie (Jacob) Shanle. Twelve great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons: Kyle Eugene and Donald Wayne Jackson, One grandson: Todd Jackson, three brothers.

Evelyn graduated from the Lincoln Community High School in 1951. She had been employed at Whites Grocery Store and retired as a Prep Cook at the Lincoln Bonanza.

She was a member of the Lincoln Christian Church.

Her hobbies were watching the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bulls, the fighting Illini and gardening.

She truly enjoyed spending time with her kids, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the charity of the donor’s choice.
