On Friday, May 6th,
fifth grade students from the District 27 elementary schools in
Lincoln enjoyed an abbreviated field trip to the Lincoln Heritage
Museum. But instead of seeing the many wonderful displays at the
museum, each student became a part of that display, bringing live
reenactments and interpretations of historic lives in the Civil War
era to the visitors at the museum.
Students were situated in strategic areas throughout the museum. At
their stations, they would introduce themselves as the historical
figure they represented, then share stories about how or why that
particular person was important in the history of the war.

Museum Director Olivia Partlow is
pictured with Ron Keller. Keller has been a professor at Lincoln
College for the last several years, and was the driving force behind
the building and design of the museum. He was the administrator at
the old museum, and the administrator of the new one for a time.
